Mark 14:22-31
(Mark 14:22-31) And as they did eat, Jesus took bread, and blessed, and brake it, and gave
to them, and said, Take, eat: this is my body. And he took the
cup, and when he had given thanks, he gave it to them: and they all drank of
it. And he said unto them, This is my blood of the new testament,
which is shed for many. Verily
I say unto you, I will drink no more of the fruit of the vine, until that day
that I drink it new in the kingdom of God. And when they had sung
an hymn, they went out into the mount of Olives. And Jesus saith
unto them, All ye shall be offended because of me this night: for it is
written, I will smite the shepherd, and the sheep shall be scattered. But after
that I am risen, I will go before you into Galilee. But Peter said
unto him, Although all shall be offended, yet will not I. And Jesus
saith unto him, Verily I say unto thee, That this day, even in this night,
before the cock crow twice, thou shalt deny me thrice. But he
spake the more vehemently, If I should die with thee, I will not deny thee in
any wise. Likewise also said they all.
The biblical covenant
is a promise between God and man. God made a covenant and obedience to human
beings one-sidedly. However, since the human being disobeyed, the previous one
was invalidated and the covenant was again signed with the new person. So, the
covenant with old people is called the old covenant, and the covenant with new
people is called the new covenant.
Jesus was
resurrected and ascended. The night before Jesus was crucified, he said the new
covenant. After breaking the bread, he said, "This cup is a new covenant
to be established with blood." Those who are in Jesus Christ become
partakers of the new covenant. Those who are in Jesus Christ are those who are
buried together in association with Jesus who died on the cross. Believing that
Jesus died for my sins and accepting that death is my death. So, for the law
(Galatians 2:19), for sin (Romans 6:2), and for the world (Galatians 6:14), it
represents the dead.
Even in
Romans 6:3, 『Know ye not, that so many of us as
were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death? It is
participating in the New Covenant that is associated with Jesus' death. In
other words, the born again is participating in the new covenant. So, it means
that the born again is justified by faith. Anyone who believes in Jesus is not
born again, but he who is united with Jesus' death is born again. So, he
participates in the new covenant.
Peter
confessed, "You are the Christ and the Son of God." But Jesus said,
"You will deny me." The faith you believe will depend on whether it
comes from the body or the spirit. In Romans and Galatians, "He who
follows the flesh must die." The Bible says, "Only those who follow
the Holy Spirit are saved." Jesus prayed that God and his disciples would
be one. Those who forsake Jesus and run away, Jesus is praying for them to “to be one."
Peter learned
the words of the Sermon on the Mount, and he had seen miracles for three years,
but was unable to control the power of the body. In John 18:25-27 『And Simon Peter stood and warmed himself. They said therefore unto
him, Art not thou also one of his disciples? He denied it, and said, I am not.
One of the servants of the high priest, being his kinsman whose ear Peter cut
off, saith, Did not I see thee in the garden with him? Peter then denied again:
and immediately the cock crew. 』
Peter knew
that God revealed that Jesus was the Son of God. Still, the soul from the body
does not change. Many church people will believe in Jesus like Peter. It may be
that he believes and follows "the way Peter cuts his ears with a
sword." The Bible describes this as "the flesh." If you live in
the flesh, the spirit must die. Many people see and learn the Lord's miracles,
but there is no faith to follow the death of the cross.
This is in
Galatians 3:23, 『But before faith came, we were
kept under the law, shut up unto the faith which should afterwards be revealed.
The state before the faith came is such that "Peter sees the miracle of
Jesus, experiences the miracle of walking on the windfall, witnesses the
amazing sight of Mt. "Before faith comes" means a state that has not
changed internally.
So, Jesus
said, "You can't follow me." And Jesus said, "After that, you
can follow me." "After that" is "after the inner changes
have been made." It means that the person whose inner change has been made
can follow the death of the cross. Before the inner change, we want to avoid
the death of the cross. Everyone is running away from the cross. The Bible says
this life is "the flesh." The soul that comes from the flesh cannot
be saved. Only “spirit” is saved. In John 6:63, “It is the spirit
that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you,
they are spirit, and they are life. 』
Physical
things must be removed. This is repentance. What is not repentant is not
sanctification, but salvation has not begun. Those who killed Jesus were the
ones who waited for the Messiah and were in charge of the law. It means that
before faith came, everything was bound under the law. Those who realize this
are those who repent. In many churches today, receiving prayer and experiencing
the Holy Spirit cannot be regarded as repenting if it is full of physical
thoughts. There are two types of people. Those who forsake Jesus on the cross
and die with Jesus. Those who do not repent are, after all, abandoning Jesus.
